Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has found himself the target of German giants Bayern Munich.
Following Manuel Neuer’s skiing accident last year he went on to miss the remainder of the season, as Bayern drafted in Yann Sommer on-loan.
However the legendary German goalkeeper is still on the sidelines as the start of the 2023-24 season approaches quickly.
According to Bild in Germany, the Bavarian side have drawn up a shortlist of potential goalkeeping options, including Sevilla and Morocco star Yassine Bounou and Seagulls stopper Sanchez.
Sanchez would likely welcome the move, providing cover for the injured Neuer and also possibly inheriting the position from him should the German retire in the near future.
The report adds that Thomas Tuchel is keen on making a move as to avoid starting the season with Sven Ulreich in net.

Sanchez a Bayern target
Sanchez had long been Brighton’s number one before losing his place to English keeper Jason Steele around March last season.
Roberto De Zerbi claiming Sanchez wasn’t playing because he ‘wanted it this way’ suggesting the player no longer wanted to be part of the squad.
Brighton have also strengthened in the goalkeeping department this summer with the arrival of Bart Verbruggen, which could signal the end of the Spaniard’s time on the South Coast.
Brighton could have already made a decision on Sanchez as it broke earlier this week that he had been excluded from the sides tour squad for their trip to the USA.
This only fuels rumours of a departure of the once highly rated keeper, however he likely won’t mind too much if he manages to secure a move to a side such as Bayern.
Sanchez has also been linked with clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham but both appear to have opted against a move.
