Brighton and Hove Albion forward, Julio Enciso is reportedly being targeted by Manchester City this summer.

It seems like once again, a Brighton star is being spoken about in another clubs transfer plans.

This time it is the exciting attacker Enciso who is drawing attention from the current league champions.

The Citizens have lost Riyad Mahrez this summer already, and have began eyeing up Enciso as his replacement according to Sussex World.

It is quite the hole to full as well given Mahrez’s 78 goals for the club in 236 appearances and the fact he was pivotal during the treble run-in last season.

The Paraguayan wonderkid only arrived at the Seagulls last summer and already is being linked with a big money move away.

Enciso’s 2022-23 season

Enciso really began to capture attention toward the back end of last season following his £9.5million move from Libertad in Paraguay.

He ended up making 26 appearances for the Amex side, scoring four goals whilst providing three assists total.

However it was more than his contributions that impressed, his all-round game is fantastic.

Dribbling, passing, pressing he can do it all which has made him one of the league’s most dangerous young players.

He has also made nine appearances for Paraguay at just 19-years-old, he made his debut at 17.

Will City make a move?

We would be surprised if a move was made this summer for Enciso, with City tending to target more established players, it could be a different story in 12 months though.

Earlier in the summer Enciso spoke of the rumoured City interest, insisting he had heard nothing.

Reported by the Manchester Evening News, he said: “I think if it’s going to happen, it will and if not then I need to continue to work hard. It gives me a lot of motivation to have teams show interest.”

Therefore we see a move as unlikely, especially with the players already lost this summer, and with no need to sell, a huge transfer fee would be set in a bid to put-off potential suitors.
