With the return of the Premier League close, Simon Adingra has been named among five potential breakout stars for the upcoming year.
Undoubtedly Adingra is not the name many readers would have been thinking of when they opened this article. The likes of Julio Enciso or Evan Ferguson could have been tipped instead however both were somewhat established in the team last season.
Rather the name listed is one who wasn’t even part of the Brighton squad last season. Simon Adingra spent last season on loan however could be the next talent to emerge following a move to Brighton.
Impressing during his loan in Belgium, Adingra returns to the Amex determined to establish himself.
He is a composed winger who can score goals and has an abundance of pace to worry defenders with. The Ivorian has showcased his immense talent during pre-season and looks set to be a part of Roberto De Zerbi’s first team squad going forward.

Adingra named a potential star
Adingra is a name likely to still be relatively unknown outside of Belgium and Brighton.
The 21-year-old was signed for a fee of £6million last summer from Danish side Nordsjaelland.
He was then sent out on loan to Union SG in the Belgian league where he enjoyed an unbelievable season.
He played a huge role in their deep Europa League run as he provided three assists in nine games.
In all competitions last season, Adingra scored 15 and assisted 15 while making 51 appearances for the club.
This has clearly led the BBC to take note and include him on their five players most likely to have a breakout year list.
He has yet to make a competitive debut for the Seagulls, however that shouldn’t be far off.
His impressive performances in pre-season including a brace against Brentford, has left De Zerbi no choice but to have Adingra at the club.
