Brighton are still in contention to secure the services of Emil Holm this summer.
According to Italian publication Tuttosport, Brighton are still working on a deal for Spezia defender Emil Holm. The Italian club want €15 million for the player, which equates to about £13 million. Juventus are also keen to sign Holm, whilst Brighton are poised to make an offer.
Roberto De Zerbi will be keen to upgrade his defence this summer. Igor has already been brought to the Amex Stadium, strengthening the heart of the rearguard. Holm would add some quality depth at right-back. The 23-year-old is capable of vying with the likes of Joel Veltman and Tariq Lamptey for a starting berth.
Having such quality strength in depth will be more important than ever this season. Brighton have Europa League football to contend with this time around. De Zerbi will need plenty of quality options to call upon to ensure that his side can compete in Europe, without letting their continental exploits hamper their domestic form.

Holm would be at home under De Zerbi
The twice-capped Sweden international was a key figure for Spezia last season, making 20 appearances in Serie A, before his campaign was cut short by injury. The Seagulls clearly saw enough, though, to decide that Holm is ready to make his mark in the Premier League. Whether the south coast outfit can beat a club like Juventus to his signature remains to be seen. However, Juventus do have Timothy Castagne identified as an alternative.
If the English side can see a deal done, then they’ll be acquiring a player with significant potential, who has the natural attacking inclinations required to thrive under De Zerbi. He has produced 11 goals and 11 assists over the course of his short career to date. He is capable of generating the kind of chances that Danny Welbeck and Joao Pedro could thrive off.
