Carlos Baleba has been speaking about his goals and idols in football after his move from Lille to Brighton.
Baleba has arrived at the Amex to much fanfare given his substantial talent and potential.
He comes with huge boots to fill, as Moises Caicedo’s direct replacement at Brighton.
While expectations are high, there is an awareness he could take some time to adapt before he is performing at his best.
Despite this, Baleba has been discussing his lofty ambitions for the upcoming season.

Baleba speaks on his move
Speaking to My Albion TV, Baleba was quizzed on his goals for the season and also his idols within football.
Baleba is expecting a positive season at Amex, emphasised by his ambition.
“My aim with the team this season is to go as high as we can in the table, and my personal goal in to score my first goal.”
Following this he was asked on the player he models his game off most in the world.
“In the past, my favourite player, my role model as you said, was Paul Pogba.”
Before he continued to display immense confidence, “but that is not the case anymore. I’m my own favourite player now.”
Where will Baleba play?
The type of player that Baleba is, he will likely eventually slot into the double pivot which Brighton deploy in midfield.
This position is currently occupied by Billy Gilmour and Pacal Gross, which is a strong midfield meaning Baleba will need to impress De Zerbi to force his way in.
However he is still young and will require coaching and time to learn the ways of Brighton before being unleashed on the league.
We can see him being a regular by the end of the season, but don’t expect him to perform right away.
