Brighton are definitely a club who are on the up, both on the field and their standing in the footballing world.

Europa League football awaits Brighton ahead of their first ever European campaign, which has impressed many.

The rise of the Seagulls doesn’t seem to be slowing down however, as they showcased just how good they are against Manchester United over the weekend.

A 3-1 win at Old Trafford will no doubt have Roberto De Zerbi and co dreaming of a top four finish this season.

But one man who has been lauding Brighton has been England rugby international, Joe Marler.

Marler praises Brighton

Brighton’s success has been an inspirational sporting story in recent years and we now are seeing other athletes take notice.

Joe Marler was speaking with Sky Sports News and admitted his respect for Brighton and Roberto De Zerbi.

“I take huge inspiration from Roberto De Zerbi and his mighty Seagulls who did a demolition job on United yesterday.”

Such a level of respect for his fellow athletes will also be a sign to De Zerbi that he has his team along the right tracks.

He will be hoping to inspire more as he leads his young Brighton team into European action on Thursday.

How far can De Zerbi go?

De Zerbi has already defied all expectations in the role so far as nobody would have expected a 6th place finish.

However now, in the position we are in, top four looks seriously a possibility.

Also, this might be wild however there is no reason a title push can’t happen when Brighton can beat anyone.

We are excited to see the season progress and to see what happens.
