Liverpool are to have overtaken Chelsea in the hunt for Brighton’s £100m rated Moises Caicedo.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been strongly linked with the Ecuadorian midfielder all summer, but it looks as though Jurgen Klopp’s side are now favourites to sign the 21-year-old.
Despite the Reds’ interest in the midfielder, Caicedo’s preference is to still join Chelsea.
However, in the last 24 hours, the Blues have agreed a deal for Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams and submitted a bid of £48 million for Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.
Caicedo has made it clear that he wishes to leave the Seagulls this summer, after a failed move to Arsenal in the January transfer window.

What next for Moises Caicedo?
It now looks almost certain that Caicedo will be departing Brighton this window.
The Ecuadorian’s contract doesn’t expire until 2027, with Albion in a strong position and not needing to sell the midfielder.
The Seagulls only paid £5 million for the midfielder, signing him from Independiente back in 2021 who have a sell-on fee.
Despite this, Brighton would make a hefty profit for someone who has only made 45 appearances for the club in all competitions.

With four years left on his current deal, Brighton are in no rush to sell their prized asset.
The club will hold firm on their £100 million valuation and with multiple Premier League sides interested in Caicedo, it could create a bidding war, working in Brighton’s favour.
