Brighton completed the signing of Ansu Fati on deadline day, a deal which club owner Tony Bloom views as momentous for the club.

A few years ago, many Brighton fans would have thought the deal to bring Ansu Fati to be a joke if you had mentioned it to them.

One of the worlds most promising talents not long ago, Fati emerged at the Nou Camp as Lionel Messi’s successor.

Fati was given the legendary Barcelona number 10 shirt upon the departure of the Argentine to PSG in 2021.

The Spanish international arrives as one of the biggest signings to ever join Brighton as he looks to get his career back on track.

An incredibly exciting acquisition for the south coast side, which could be a game-changer for the club.

Fati a huge signing says Bloom

Signing a player like Fati is something the entire football world will have taken notice of.

It is one that Brighton owner Tony Bloom has insisted is a massive signing for the club as he spoke to the BBC about how the deal came around.

“It wasn’t one we had really talked about much until the last few days of the window but when we heard about it, Roberto was really keen and I was extremely excited.

“We managed to get a deal done very late. It is a wonderful thing for our football club to do. Not so long ago he was considered the best young player in the world.”

Fati could make his debut on Saturday as Brighton head to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

Following this, his first home debut could be in the conference league, with the visit of AEK Athens.
