Brighton have targeted Carlos Baleba from Lille as the ideal replacement for outgoing £115million man Moises Caicedo.

The Seagulls as usual are looking to sign a talented young star to come in as the side look to fill the void left by the departed Ecuadorian.

Caicedo’s move to Chelsea was confirmed yesterday and already, Brighton have highlighted Cameroonian 19-year-old Carlos Baleba as the next big star.

Baleba currently plays for Lille in Ligue 1 and is said to have very little missing from his game.

He is an incredibly talented player as demonstrated by the £15m bid which Brighton have already seen rejected.

The bid according to Fabrizio Romano was rejected with Lille targeting around £25million in order for the deal to happen.

Negotiations however are set to continue for the player who Brighton envision as the perfect replacement for Caicedo.

Brighton face competition for Baleba

Brighton have an unprecedented track record of unearthing the most incredible young talents across the globe.

Therefore when they show interest, you tend to take notice and note the player down as a potential star.

Baleba is one of those, with countless top European sides interested in him also.

The Daily Mail report that AC Milan, Juventus, Monaco, Liverpool and Newcastle are just some of the clubs who have tracked Baleba.

The youngster is a player absolutely ready for the Premier League, with one scout from the league summing him up according to the Mail Online:

“There is very little missing in his game. He has speed, technical ability, aggression and intelligence. He will develop more physically too as he’s only 19.”

Brighton rarely miss on young players, and it seems this is another instance of a brilliant signing, should they agree a fee.
