Brighton and Hove Albion youngster Reda Khadra is set to join French side Reims on a permanent deal.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano states that the German has agreed terms on a four-year deal, with a medical set to take place within the next 24 hours.

Khadra has spent the last three years on loan in the Championship at various clubs.

The 22-year-old had his most successful spell away from the Seagulls at Blackburn Rovers during the 2021/22 campaign.

The former Borussia Dortmund winger scored five times, whilst contributing four assists in 28 games for Rovers.

Blackburn boss at the time Tony Mowbray described Khadra as “tricky, fast and powerful” after his side’s 1-0 victory against QPR.

However, the youngster failed to hit the heights he achieved at Ewood Park during his next two loan spells.

He found game time hard to come by at Sheffield United, with a very stop-start spell at Birmingham City due to injury.

Can Reda Khadra kick on in France?

Brighton are known for developing young talent, however, unfortunately in Khadra’s case, it hasn’t worked out for him at the Seagulls.

It is clear from his time at Blackburn, he is a talented youngster who can produce moments of brilliance.

For him to be able to hit the heights he once did he, needs consistent first-team minutes, which is something Brighton can’t guarantee hence his move to Reims.

He also needs a bit of luck with injuries, which is something he has struggled with in recent times.

However, all things considered, a move to France will be the best option for all parties involved.

Brighton will receive a fee for the 22-year-old, with Khadra having the opportunity to play regularly in a side progressing well under young British boss Will Still.
