Brighton midfielder Billy Gilmour says that the Seagulls will get used to their busy fixture schedule after their 3-1 win over Bournemouth.
The Seagulls lost to AEK Athens 3-2 on Thursday evening in their first ever Europa League game, which is the start of a busy few months with Albion playing in four different competitions this season.
Gilmour said that the club will take time to adjust to the amount of Agnes in a short space of time.
“This was the first game after Europe and we’re getting used to it but we knew we had to make sure we got three points,” Gilmour told the club website. “We knew we had to bounce back today. The first half wasn’t what we expected, we never got ourselves going. But in the second half we were better.
“I think it was a disappointing result midweek and the start we had [vs Bournemouth] wasn’t what we would have liked. But with the substitutes Kaoru and Ansu [Fati] coming on, I thought the impact Ansu had pressing high, winning it high and Kaoru follows up the second balls and gets his goal. It was a great way to start the second half.”
Roberto de Zerbi agrees with Billy Gilmour

Manager Roberto De Zerbi agreed with Gilmour, stating the schedule as the reasoning behind him making nine changes from the loss to AEK Athens.
“It was one of the toughest games of this period for us,” said the Italian. “It’s the first time of us playing after the European game. We have to get used to playing so many games.
“I changed a lot of players in the XI because we need to change and give one game on the bench for the players as we lose someone like Pascal Gross or Lewis Dunk in the last game and we have to adapt. We didn’t play well but we showed character and we needed that.”
