Brighton are set to bring Barcelona wonderkid Ansu Fati to the Amex on loan for the season in what is a hugely surprising move.
This came last night according to Fabrizio Romano who claimed Fati will join Brighton.
Brighton won’t have an option to buy Fati following the loan move and will be covering the majority of his wages.
This move comes as a huge surprise given his status in football and the fact he was once hand-picked as Lionel Messi’s replacement at the Camp Nou.
Tottenham were also interested in the Spanish youngster however Brighton are said to have bested them in the race for his siganture.
But with a world-class left-winger already at Brighton in Kaoru Mitoma, it is unclear where Fati can fit in at Brighton.

Where will Fati fit in at Brighton?
Ansu Fati made a name for himself as a left sided attacker for Barcelona after coming through La Masia.
However he is versatile and can play across the front line, including up-front and on the right.
However with Brighton already a largely settled line-up, it is unclear where he will be deployed under Roberto De Zerbi, especially given Barcelona wouldn’t send him here without assurances over game-time.
It is fairly certain that Mitoma will retain his place on the left due to his immaculate performances this season.
On the right, which could have been an option, Solly March has also began the season in strong form and is unlikely to be dropped.
Where we see Fati fitting in is potentially in the Julio Enciso role, just behind the striker after the Paraguayan was revealed to be out for four months.
This or having Fati play as the striker are the best options, however both unorthodox due to his physicality not suiting the number nine role.
