Brighton could be willing to sell Steven Alzate this summer with there being a lot of interest in the out-of-favour midfielder.

Brighton have stacked up their midfield options this summer following the sales of both Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister.

Since the window opened, Brighton have brought Mahmoud Dahoud and Carlos Baleba to the club, both being top options in midfield.

Dahoud arrived from Borussia Dortmund for free and already has impressed in his limited displays.

Meanwhile Baleba has only just arrived at the club, but comes as a big money signing who will undoubtedly be given multiple chances to prove his potential.

Therefore with these two added to the existing options of Billy Gilmour and Pascal Gross, Brighton are overloaded with options and could now sell.

This coming in the form of Steven Alzate who is said to be attracting a wide level of interest.

Alzate to be sold

Alzate seems to be the one on the chopping block, due to him not being completely Roberto De Zerbi’s style of player.

This is according to Simon Stone, who claims interest is high in Alzate as he tweeted:

“Lots of interest in Steven Alzate, who will be allowed to leave Brighton following Carlos Baleba’s arrival.”

Brighton are said to have a host of interested parties and therefore a bidding war could be expected.

Stone added that, “Wolves, Everton, Sevilla and Fiorentina all keen.”

Therefore a sale for Alzate is likely, with the 24-year-old likely to command a fee of under £5million which the Seagulls could use for the next talented 18-year-old they find.
