Brighton midfielder Steven Alzate is attracting interest from Europe.

According to the Daily Mail, Alzate is gaining interest from Sevilla and Fiorentina.

The 24-year-old has not played a single game under manager Roberto De Zerbi, and does not look to be part of his plans for this campaign.

The Colombia international has not made an appearance for the club since a Carabao Cup win Iver Forest Green early last season..

It is unknown how much Alzate would cost or how much Sevilla or Fiorentina are willing to offer at this time.

Alzate has been a player that has been in and out of Brighton squads in recent seasons.

He joined in 2017 from Leyton Orient, and started playing for Brighton’s U23 side.

He then spent the first half of 18/19 on loan at Swindon Town, before being integrated in the first team at the AMEX the following season, making 19 appearances in the Premier League.

So far he has made 51 appearances for the Seagulls between 19/20 and 22/23, scoring three goals

Alzate spent last season out on loan in Belgium with Standard Liege, making 29 appearances and scoring three goals as they finished sixth in the regular season of the Pro League, before coming third in the Europa Conference League play-off group.

Brighton have a lot of options in central midfield, despite the recent loss of Moises Caicedo in a record-breaking deal to Chelsea for £115 million

Brighton have signed two central midfielders so far this window in the form of veteran James Milner from Liverpool and German Mahmoud Dahoud from Borussia Dortmund.

They also still have the likes of Adam Lallana, Billy Gilmour and Pascal Groß, so the likelihood of Alzate making an appearance for Brighton are very slim.

This may be the best time for Alzate to leave, so he can get regular first-team football in a top league, and not let his career stagnate.
